2010 Results from South Africa

Erik van der Walt, 28 years old from Pretoria, won the South Africa 2010 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship held on Friday, 23rd July at Maritzburg Golf Club.

The qualifying rounds in the morning attracted competitors like, Rynardt Combrinck, the 2008 SA Champion, Dewald Gouws, 2008 runner-up in USA, and Ryan Louw, who finished 5th at the World Champs in USA last year!

The top 8 competitors from the qualifying round faced off against each other.

After Round 1 in the finals, Erik was safely in 4th position with a drive of 323.7 metres. Round 2, Erik finished 2nd with a drive of 351 metres. It was now down to the top 4 competitors

• 1st Erik van der Walt - 362.0 metres
• 2nd Rynardt Combrinck - 352.9 metres
• 3rd Ryan Louw - 339.0 metres
• 4th Dewald Gouws - 320.0 metres

Erik van der Walt will represent South Africa in Mesquite, Nevada in October 2010.
